ROHS and Reach

GradConn Ltd are committed to supply products that meet the requirements of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive (2011/65/EU & 2015 /863/EU), each drawing is clearly marked in the top right corner to show the products are compliant. Certification is available see below.

Under RoHS Decabromodiphenyl Ether (Deca BDE) is restricted (at levels of >1000ppm) from Electrical and Electronic equipment as of 30th June 2008. GradConn parts adhere to this restriction.

Solder Process

GradConn understand the change to production processes brought about by RoHS compliance within reflow and wave solder processes, as such we offer a variety of different insulator styles to suit customer's requirements.

SMT connectors: Insulators are produced in either Nylon 6T, Nylon46 or LCP (Liquid crystal polymer), which are all capable of withstanding the increased temperatures of lead free solder processes.

Through hole connectors: Insulators are produced in Nylon 6T as standard, this is suitable for withstanding high temperature wave and reflow RoHS solder processes.
PBT is not suitable for wave solder process (RoHS and Non-RoHS), and as such is not suitable for new designs, as such Grad Conn will not quote PBT insulator material for new enquiries but continue to support PBT as a legacy product for existing customers.
Specify through hole insulator material using the final two digits of part number. These digits left blank specify PBT (see example below).
